We have designed some educational courses for school children in order to help them understand life in the countryside and its dynamics. We can organise personalised itineraries with you based on specific needs, you just need to contact our agronomist, Giulia, who is responsible for the itineraries for schools.

* All activities will be previously agreed with the teachers so as to adapt them to teaching and group needs.
** For a minimal additional cost, you can have lunch or take a break in a suitably-equipped area: 1 activity: 5€ 1 activity + packed lunch + free afternoon: 7€ 2 activities (morning and afternoon) + packed lunch: 10€

The Fragrant Garden

The Fragrant Garden is a path which has been planned and designed to stimulate the senses: it's a place in which the main players are sight, touch, smell and taste.

The sensory itinerary is broken down into several segments:

• The first part envisages an introduction on the importance of the senses and on the characteristics of the plants found in the garden through specific cards and images;

• The second part involves active discovery by the pupil who will be blindfolded and guided by the operator to discover the aromatic and other herbaceous plants.

Finally, the last part involves a manipulation activity in which the child will prepare a jar of aromatic herbs to take home.

During the tour, the pupils will be guided in recognising the various plants found in the farm's wood and in observing the animal footprints, the aim being to develop their feelings for the nature which surrounds us and their behaviour towards it.

The children will also be asked to become real "woodland artists" during the activity, by creating a design using elements from nature.

From Garden to Table

This idea of this activity is to let pupils find out how the food they eat every day is produced and how it can be prepared for proper nutrition.

The itinerary is divided into two distinct segments:

• Part one in the garden: in this segment the life cycles of some well-known vegetables, such as carrots, lettuce, tomatoes and potatoes, are explained. The pupils are involved in the sowing, transplanting, watering, care and harvesting of these vegetables.

• Part two in the kitchen: pupils have an opportunity to taste some of the products collected in the garden and prepare a simple but tasty dish themselves.

Duration
The activity lasts approximately one hour and 30 minutes.

• Finally, the pupils will be able to recognise and taste various types of honey, as well as work the wax to produce a candle which they can then take home.

The farmer's corner

Animals have always been the typical representation of the countryside.

This activity includes a walk around the farm to get to know the animals found there: cows, donkeys, ponies, farmyard animals (chickens, rabbits, geese etc.) and pigs.

Depending on the age of the participants, each animal has an associated story which explains how it lives, what it eats and how it helps human beings. In addition, pupils will have an opportunity to be able to "take care" of the animal: feed them, stroke them and clean them.

The guide gets the pupils involved with questions and activities about the animals and the farm.

Duration
The activity lasts approximately two hours.
